Russia Pouring Billions Into Nanotech

Russia is desperate to catch up with the United States in nanotech. To hurry this along, the government is spending billions of dollars, taking up the research risk where private business isn't willing to. The picture at left shows President Putin visiting the sinchrotron radiation and nanotechnology center in Moscow. Limited English adoption among Russian scientists, along with a lack of support from the private sector will make catching up a big challenge for the Russians.
