Nanotubes Punching Holes in Cancer

Filed in archive Medical by Dr. Joseph Kim on August 28, 2008

Everyone wants to cure cancer. Researchers at Stanford University are using carbon nanotubes to punch holes in tumor cells. Talk about targeted drug delivery! If chemotherapy can be delivered directly into cancer cells, then other healthy cells may be protected. The result may be fewer side effects, less toxicity, and more effective treatment of cancer. The future of cancer care will involve more targeted therapeutics on molecular and nano-mechanical levels. Source: Stanford News
