Below is an interesting video, made by some digital video students, showcasing some of the features of the nanotech-enabled suit being developed at MIT that the Pentagon would like to see in action by 2020. To summarize the touted benefits: super boots (6x jump height), super shield, super cast, and adaptive stealth.
This is not science fiction. The Army has already put over $50 million into the project and it is currently in its first five-year extension period. The project is likely to be continued again when it comes up for review in 2012.
