Instantly Stop Bleeding

Can you imagine if you had the ability to instantly stop bleeding? Minor cuts can be annoying, but they're rarely life-threatening. Holding some firm pressure will often stop mild bleeding. However, there are no safe and effective ways to immediately stop life-threatening bleeding. This problem is magnified in people who may be taking blood-thinning medications or in certain individuals who have bleeding disorders such as hemophilialinks.

A company called Arch Therapeutics has licensed special technology from MIT and is developing a material that may instantly stop bleeding. This material was discovered at MIT in the early 1990s, but its potential to stop bleeding wasn't recognized until recently. Isn't nanotechnology so amazing? Think about all the blood transfusions that may no longer be needed if bleeding could be stopped instantly.
