Avain flu worries send NanoMask sales flying

Growing concern over avian flu has helped send sales of Emergency Filtration Products Inc.' s
NanoMasks and filters soaring. Over the next two years, the company expects to ship over one half million masks and almost ten million filters.
" Over the past few weeks we have experienced a strong increase in orders for the NanoMask, which we believe is due to the growing threat of a possible avian flu pandemic, " said Douglas K. Beplate, President, EFP. " As a result, and due to a number of
potentially large orders from a number of medical products distributors in the United States and abroad, we are gearing up production capacity to meet the growing demand for the NanoMask. " To meet demand, the company is opening an new plant in Nogales, Mexico.
EFP's 2H Nano-Enhanced Environmental Mask, the NanoMask, relies on the company's core 2H Technology filtration system, which utilizes a combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic filters able to capture and isolate bacterial and viral microorganisms with efficiencies of 99.9%. EFP bills the NanoMask as the first face mask in the world to utilize nanotechnology enhanced filter media to effectively isolate and destroy viral and bacterial contaminants.
