Animated 3D models of nanomachines in action
The design of the month at the Nanorex gallery shows some pretty interesting animated 3D models of nanomachines in action.

The animations were created from simulation results using Nanorex NanoEngineer-1 Alpha 7 software.

Intriguing as the models are, I can't help but think that actual nanomachines, when they arrive, will not bear the resemblance to large-scale mechanicallinks machines (rollers, gears, etc.) seen in these models. Why should they, when the conditions of their operation are so different?

Thanks to Christine Peterson at Nanodot for the heads up. (photo Nanorex)
